THE STATE BALLET OF RHODE ISLANDGloria Gemma Flames of Hope

Join The State Ballet of Rhode Island, the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation, and thousands of Rhode Islanders at 'Flames of Hope a Celebration of Life Weekend' on October 1st, 2016, 6:00pm at the statehouse in Providence, RI.

SBRI is honored to dance under the stars for the 7th year in a row as part of 'Illuminations of Life', the pinnacle of the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation's Flames of Hope weekend. The event will capture your heart and restore your faith in humanity.

Breast cancer survivors and their loved ones carry torches in memory of those who have lost their battles with breast cancer, and to light the way for those who have yet to begin their journeys. The 'Flames of Hope a Celebration of Life' torch ceremony coincides with the final full WaterFire lighting of the season.

Since its inception in 2006, FLAMES OF HOPE: A CELEBRATION OF LIFEā„¢ has grown into the largest breast cancer awareness event in the Northeast. The event, held annually during Columbus Day Weekend, draws more than 100,000 visitors to Downtown Providence.

SBRI dancers and the company's resident choreographer, Shana Fox, are delighted to share their passion for ballet and for their community as they portray what is really means to have Faith, Courage, Hope, Determination, and Strength in life's difficult situations.

A FREE Event.
