2009 SBRI Scholarship Recipients




On Sunday January 25th, The State Ballet of Rhode Island held its’ annual Company Auditions for aspiring young male & female dancers before a panel of judges. Five students from all over New England were accepted into the Pre-Apprentice program. Margaret Beattie of Norton, MA Allison Dillon of East Providence, RI Hannah DiFrancesco of Seekonk, MA Sara Gendron of North Smithfield, RI Alexander Thurley of North Smithfield, RI

Following the audition, The State Ballet conducted its’ competitive Scholarship tryouts where SBRI dancers presented solo variations, in hope of being awarded a scholarship towards tuition at the prestigious Brae Crest School of Classical Ballet in Lincoln, RI. Over $17,000. is given out in scholarship per year. With a high level of technique and ability, the following students are the award recipients.

The “Joseph Levinhoff Scholarship”
